Friday Communique

Mary sent me the sweetest email a couple of weeks ago. She saw my Rhumba bracelet (above) excerpted in the April/May issue of Beadwork (The bracelet is a project from my new Glass book and it was awesome of my friends to put it in the magazine too!) and shared with me her very own version (below):

Isn't is great?! I love the look of the little peyote ruffles en masse. Nice work Mary and thank you so much for sharing your bracelet with me!

I'm off to start my weekend now with a massage from Christine (best massage therapist EVER!) before a night in Old Town with Rebecca - yaay! While I go get some much needed pampering, check out what some of my crew were up to this week:

Sara Hardin (AKA SoftFlexGirl) wants you to check out the
Soft Flex Company Spotlight on...articles, bead store & designer features as well as book reviews.

Kristen Fagan designed a 5th birthday celebration with a Nintendo Mario Kart theme!

Have a lovely weekend! xoxo

Jamie, this is a gorgeous bracelet!! i have done some seed bead work and have taught myself a few techniques. I am more of a larger bead jewelry designer and especially love wirework, but sometimes i like to do a seed bead project because i find it calming, and this looks loke one i'd like to try!! Just gorgeous!

Thanks for putting the picture of my bracelet on your blog. I have already started a new project with the rhumba disks.

Are these beads from Sarah Moran? They are sooo fun!

Thank you Norma and Sharon! The little disks are actually pretty simple to make. Sharon, if you decide to make one, please send me a pic of your finished piece.

Mary, I hope you share your new project too!

Lorelei, yes! I'm totally addicted to Sarah's beads.
